Taiyamo Denku

Picture a emcee still living in the golden era of Hip hop, when Adidas jumpsuits were still worn by the b-boys, when Rakim was considered ahead of his Time, before Jay-z Dropped the "ICE" age and Kanye was called a "Gayfish". This is a Time of Taiyamo Denku. This emcee still has hope hip hop will come back to its roots and original form when styles were original, when everyone wasn't trying to make a dance that makes other people look stupid to follow the trend, when battling was still freestyled and not completely written trying to prove that you can out write another emcee. Denku is called "weird" and "different" with a voice box some claim was cloned from B Real or Cage but yet styles from both is still completely left field. Denku has been molded from the times of Wu Tang, with a twist of Big Pun, a pint of Kweli, with other ingredients added such as Cannibal Ox or Aesop Rock. Originality is his goal , you figure why take away the creativeness of hip hop or rap music, which is obviously what has been done in the age we are in now. Now a days it is hard to listen to the radio and hear "YEAHHHHH" as a background adlib on many songs that DJ's on stations claim is the new age of Hip Hop. With this statement being true Denku is not just in a fight to be heard but a fight to bring hip hop back to how it used to be where your not just making music for fans and to make money, where your trying to build a movement with your message, where your trying to drive people to use there minds cause in todays society if your just following what is media pressed into your head then your just another clone of society, a robot of this declined entertainment.

Taiyamo Denku or legally known as Jason Miller was raised and still resides in Milwaukee, WI. Started really rhyming through freestyle form in 96, he has come along way since. So you figure being in the hip hop game and seeing it change for 12 years and counting, he has witnessed the downfall of what hip hop used to be. He used to go by the alias "Sandman" that was back when in the summer of 1999. He recorded Apocalyptic Fury, his first demo. Then finding out there was already a rapper named "Sandman" he figured he needed a name no one would ever have or be able to take enless they took it from him. So taking a day or so to think up a new name he came up with "Taiyamo Denku" which shortens to Denku for most since they can never pronounce the full thing. Taiyamo Denku can really be broken down into 3 parts. "Tai" which was taken from the relaxed fighting form of Tai Chi, cause when Denku battles he is laid back waiting for a right time or a more clever way to attack an opponent. "Yamo" is to represent fake form of the spanish word "llamo" meaning name in spanish. He used this cause for years his appearance people would think he is latin, weather to be Puerto Rican or a light skinned mexican, so in his own way he used yamo to pretty much name his self as not really being Latin like everyone thinks he is. "denku" is the most complicated part of the name. During the time of him coming up with the name there were tons of emcees out at the time who went by Cartoon character names having to use other peoples cartoon creations. So Denku figured why not be more original and just create his own cartoon character, to hide behind the real image of himself. So Denku is sort of the alter Ego of Jason Miller hence the idea of making fantasy imagery with his lyrics and drawing abstract pictures in peoples minds who take time to listen to what this emcee is really saying.

True he has rhymed for 12 years but didn't start taking it seriously till he met up with his group in 2001. The group known as WASTELANDS. The group would go on till present to put out a total of 5 projects and counting. Taiyamo Denku on the side of working with his group on many projects has done a number of projects on the side, as well as a number of shows with his group and intertwining himself into the battle scene. His most successful project to date would probably be his debut solo album titled "Dark Journal of Thornwards". Mixed in with todays new era of hip hop this album is not really seen as a booty popping club project, but if this was released say in '96 or earlier he would probably be soaking up the run for fame in hip hop cause this project is what real hip hop heads would want to hear. He shares verses with Keith Murray who some real heads would call a hip hop legend, on the track titled "when terror speaks" which was such a dope track it was also remixed by LX and put on the latest Wastelands release "After Years of Television". Some might consider Denku as king of collabs but that's mainly just cause he likes working with a lot of emcees whats doper then blending dope styles on a track together. Others have referred to Denku as the hardest worker in hip hop, mostly cause at one point her was dropping songs daily to a catalogue that would probably equal the same as 20 albums plus. The Keith Murray collab is not the only sick collab that Denku has made into some hip hop heads favorite he also has done tracks with Chino XL, Baby Sham of Flipmode Squad, Pacewon of the Outsidaz, Hangar 18 and many more to equal only a pure sick hip hop album.Emcee features are not the only thing Denku has to offer he has lyrics that will put you in the place he is rhyming about make you vision things you didn't know your mind was capable of, and a sick round of dope producers such as Nasa, Cryptic One of Atoms Family, DJ Vadim of Ninja Tune and many more. Dark Journal can be found by anyone on I tunes and many other known sites. The Album played for a true hip hopper would be considered a Classic but if you like Pop-Rap then it is not something for you.

The Future for Denku can only get better, he as already begun finishing touches on his 2nd solo album release which he has entitled "Articles of Mind" that he is gonna joint release on Chi Mil Music and Uncommon Records. The album looks to be another sick edition to real hip hop with classic collabs with Prince Po formerly of Organized Konfusion and collabs with Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox and so much more that I know the real hip hop heads will love. Also look out for the official release of Musical Imbalance Vol. 1 which is a link between Denku and Complex the NYC emcee for a grimy mixtape release that will be out soon on Chi Mil Music, that and much more to come from Taiyamo Denku Stay Tuned...........
